Arizona

Arizona was added as a US state on February 14, 1912. It has a land area of 113,635 sq miles, the 6th largest area for a US State, and has a population of 5,743,834 as of 2004. Its capital is Phoenix and it is bordered by California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Arizona's high point is Humphrey Peak at 12,633 feet and its low point is 70 feet at the Colorado River. Arizona's state bird is the Cactus Wren, and the state flower is the Saguaro Cactus Blossom.

New Mexico

The capital city of New Mexico is Santa Fe. New Mexico has a population of 1,903,289 as of 2004. It has a land area of 121,356 sq. miles and is bordered by Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah. Its highest point is Wheeler Peak at 13,161 (8th highest in US), and its lowest point is Red Bluff Lake at 2,817 feet. New Mexico was added as a US State January 6, 1912. Its state bird is the Roadrunner and its state flower is the Yucca Flower.

Oklahoma

The Capital of Oklahoma is Oklahoma City. It is bordered by Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas. Oklahoma was added as a US state on Nov 16, 1907. It has a land area of 68,667 sq. miles and a population of 3,523,553. The state bird is the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher, and the state flower is the Mistletoe. The highest point in Oklahoma is Black Mesa at 4,073 feet, and the lowest point is 287 feet at Little River.

Texas

Texas became a US State on December 29, 1845. It has a land area of 261,797 sq. miles, and had a population of 22,490,022 as of 2004. The Texas state bird is the Mockingbird and the state flower is the Bluebonnet. Texas is bordered by Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The highest point is Guadalupe Peak at 8,749 feet and the lowest point is sea level. Austin is the Capital city of Texas.
