California

Death Valley, at a low point of 282 feet below sea level is the low point in California, and in the US. California's high point is 14,494 at Mt Whitney, the second highest peak in the US. California has the largest population in the US with 35,893,799 as of 2004, and was added as a state September 9, 1850. California has a land area of 155,959 sq ft, the 3rd largest in the US, and is bordered by Arizona, Nevada and Oregon. The capital is Sacramento. The state bird is the California Valley Quail, and the state flower is the California Poppy.

Oregon

The highest point in Oregon is Mount Hood at 11,239 feet and the lowest point is sea level. The Capital of Oregon is Salem. It is bordered by California, Idaho, Nevada and Washington, and was added as a US State on February 14, 1859. Oregon has a land area of 95,997 sq. miles, and had a population of 3,594,586 as of 2004. The Oregon state bird is the Western Meadowlark, and the state flower is the Oregon Grape.

Washington

The Washington state flower is the Pink Rhododendron and the state bird is the Willow Goldfinch. It is bordered by Idaho and Oregon. The highest point in Washington is Mt Rainier at 14,410 feet (4th highest) and the lowest point is at sea level. Washington had a population of 6,203,788 as of 2004 and has a land area of 66,544 sq. miles. The Capital is Olympia. Washington became a US State on November 11, 1889.
