The Middle Atlantic Region of the United States includes 3 states: New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania. The highest point in the Middle Atlantic Region is Mt. Trenton is the capital of New Jersey, a state with a population of 8,698,879 (9th largest in US) as of 2004, which borders with Delaware, New York and Pennsylvania. New Jersey has a land area of 7,417 sq. miles. New Jersey's highest point is High Point at 1,803 feet and its lowest point is sea level. It was added as a US state in December 18, 1787. The New Jersey state flower is the Violet, and the state bird is the Eastern Goldfinch.

The Capital of New York is Albany. New York was added as a state July 26, 1788. It has a land area of 47,214 sq. miles and borders with Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont. New York has a the 3rd highest population in the country at 19,227,088 as of 2004. Mt. Marcy is New York's highest point at 5,344 feet, and the lowest point is sea level. The state bird is the bluebird, and the Rose is the state flower.

Pennsylvania became a US State on December 12, 1787. The Capital is Harrisburg. Pennsylvania is bordered by Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and West Virginia. It has a land area of 44,817 sq. miles and had a population of 12,406,292 as of 2004. The highest point in Pennsylvania is Mount Davis at 3,213 feet, and the lowest point is sea level at the Delaware River. The state bird is the Ruffed Grouse and the state flower is the Mountain Laurel.
